- country
- Mexico
- eligibility
- Mexico has no dedicated startup/founder visa. The closest route is Temporary Residency via capital investment: a minimum investment of about MXN $5,378,664 (~US$300,000) in shares of a private Mexican-owned company or company/companies listed on the Mexican stock exchange. Mexperience notes these applications are considerably more complex than the standard economic-solvency routes and qualify only for Temporary (not Permanent) Residency.
- processing notes
- Applied at a Mexican consulate abroad; consular file review with interview (in English or Spanish) and biometric capture. Per the SRE Consulate (Orlando) economic-solvency sheet, the Consulate may take up to ten business days to process; a non-refundable processing fee (US$53 cash at that consulate) is charged before review. After approval and entry, the visa must be exchanged for a residency card at a local INM office within 30 days of arrival.
