- Self-employed non-EU/EEA/non-Swiss citizens (not for EU citizens) with an innovative, scalable business plan with demonstrable growth potential. Can be used by individuals or teams of up to 3 people starting a business together under a joint business plan. Applicant must prove ability to support themselves and have enough capital to run the business. The business plan must first be approved by the Startup Denmark expert panel.

- Two-step process: (1) business plan assessed by the Startup Denmark expert panel; (2) if approved, apply for a residence and work permit at the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI), fee DKK 2,490 (approx EUR 335). Permit granted for up to two years, extendable for three years at a time. Applications submitted after 14 June 2026 are evaluated in August.
