- The seven SEZs created under the 2017 ZEE program (e.g. Puerto Chiapas, Coatzacoalcos, Lazaro Cardenas-La Union, Progreso, Salina Cruz) were officially cancelled. A decree published in the DOF on 19 November 2019 under President Lopez Obrador repealed the prior SEZ decrees; the government said the zones were not operating and were 'of no benefit.' No federal SEZ regime is active as of 2026.
