- Customs-free commercial area established by Government Decision no. 449 (June 1999); covers ~90 ha across two platforms (Curtici near rail lines; Arad near the airport) in western Romania. Incentives: duty deferral (customs debts paid only when goods are released for free circulation); no taxes on goods subsequently exported outside the EU; unlimited time for stationing of goods in the zone; businesses pay taxes only on goods sold within the EU. Hosts automotive, textile, plastics, transport and logistics companies and Romanian trading companies.
