Patent portfolio assigned to Confinity (verified via public assignee records). Defunct fintech startup founded December 1998 by Thiel, Levchin and Nosek; created the original PayPal product, merged with Elon Musk's X.com in March 2000, renamed PayPal in 2001. Early competitor/merger counterpart X.com, plus eBay's Billpoint. A Confinity-originated payment patent (later in the PayPal family) is on Google Patents, so has_patents=true. No standalone customer list (defunct).
